MRCA Chinese New Year Dinner 2011

Just came back from a corporate Chinese New Year dinner which I attended on behalf of my company, DiGi Telecommunications. Hosted by the Malaysian Retail Chain Association (MRCA) at One World Hotel., its attended by majority of the local retail chain owner. It's extremely tiring when you have to mingle with some 1,000 corporate figure, so I shall just upload 2 photo for the day.

Andy Goh, Managing Director of Fujihome Global Bhd

If you are shopping for Kitchen Appliances, let me know, I can get some good discount from him.

Henry Yip, founder of Dragon-I, Ms Law Hwee Ching, General Manager of Sushi King and her Marketing Manager

I'm dead tired and got an early meeting to catch tomorrow. Over and out...

Dato' Tony Fernandes @ MRCA CEO Night 2010

Recently meet up with Dato' Tony Fernandes while attending the Malaysian Retail Chain Association(MRCA) CEO Night 2010 @ One World Hotel, Bandar Utama on the 29th of July. Tony was one of the guess speaker invited to talk about Branding but he end up entertaining almost 600 guest with AirAsia's success story and how it started from a humble beginning to become a multi billion dollar business today. Having dabble in the entertainment industry certainly has an edge in getting all the guests attention.

I'm managed to catch up with Tony at the end of the event and was surprise that he still remember meeting me at DiGi's office about 2 years back. Back then we even took a photo together and Tony told me to look for him with that photo if I ever need a job.

Here's Tony and Me

Tony dressed casually in Team Lotus T-Shirt while I was in my power suit. Over Dressed or Under Dressed ? That's up to you to think over.

CEO of YTL Communications

Thank's to Young Corporate Malaysian(YCM) for organising the CEO Series where I had the opportunity to meet yet another down to earth CEO, he is non other than Mr Wing K Lee, the CEO of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd. The telecommunication arm of YTL Group, which will be launching the world first nationwide 4G network somewhere end of this year. Coincidentally Apple will also be launching the iPhone 4G towards end of this year. I suspect a partnership might take place soon between these two conglomerate.

Anyway, the opportunity to meet Mr Wing was really was really an honour and fun filled experience. He was able to make the crowd listen attentively while he share his experiences and addresses the various questions that the crowd throws at him. Apart from Tony Fernandes(CEO of Airasia) and Morten Ludal(former CEO of DiGi), not many other CEO has the ability to do that, especially when you are addressing the group of youth and social media enthusiast gathered in the function room @ Nikko Hotel.

I was also introduce to Mr Jacob Yeoh, the Executive Director of YTL Communications Sdn Bhd(he is also the son of Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Francis Yeoh and son to Tan Sri Dato' Seri Yeoh Tiong Lay the founder of YTL Empire). I first knew about Jacob when they organise the Climate Change Week 2008 with the premier of The 11th Hour.
